Jack Fincham left bruised as he’s taken to hospital following ‘devastating’ car crash

Jack Fincham has been left bruised as he’s taken to hospital following a car crash which damaged his £35K Mercedes E200 outside a pub in Dartford over the weekend.

In a new interview, the Love Island star, 29, revealed he’s visited a physiotherapist for scans of his nose, head and neck after sustaining injuries when the vehicle’s airbag hit him in the face.

The incident – which marked his second crash in two months – has caused the boxer to trade in flashy automobiles for the silver van he drives his dogs in as he claimed he’s had ‘bad luck with cars since I was 19’.

In images obtained by The Sun, the reality star displayed his bruised eyes following the ‘almighty smash’, which could interfere with his boxing debut, slated for November 10.

The media personality told the publication: ‘My nose and head are really hurting as well as my neck. I’m going to the physio to have a look at it.

‘Unfortunately I was in a car accident. It’s all being dealt with. The airbag popped out straight in my face and unfortunately for me it was a lot harder than Barney’s punch to the nose. I literally just got that car, I’m absolutely devastated.

‘It just seems to be something that happens to me. I’m actually proper upset about it. When things are going really well for me, the universe goes: have that. It’s only a bit of metal isn’t it, at the end of the day?’

The TV star first addressed the crash on Instagram, where he said: ‘The day I’ve had… pulling into a car park to have something to eat, a Caesar salad in case anyone is interested… a car ploughed straight into my car as I indicated to go in there.’

Moments after the crash, Jack’s ex-girlfriend Connie O’Hara climbed across to leave by the driver side door.

Around 20 minutes later, police arrived, shortly followed by paramedics who treated the driver of the other vehicle, a Chrysler PT Cruiser at the scene.

Jack was spoken to by police as his vehicle was taken away in a tow truck. The Sun report that Jack was breathalysed at the scene and passed the test.

Traffic in the area came to a standstill for almost two hours as police dealt with the incident.

A representative for Kent Police told MailOnline: ‘Kent Police was called at 2pm on Sunday 18 October 2020 to a collision involving two cars on Leyton Cross Road, Dartford…

‘Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a person was treated for injuries before being taken to a local hospital.’

In his Instagram video after the crash, Jack explained: ‘The day I’ve had… pulling into a car park to have something to eat, a Caesar salad in case anyone is interested…

‘A car ploughed straight into my car as I indicated to go in there. I do not have any luck with cars, I’m devastated, it’s a brand new car as well, I’m devastated!’

Reflecting on how bad the crash could have been, Jack added: ‘Thankfully no one was injured, it’s just a bit of metal at the end of the day, isn’t it?…

‘It’s all being dealt with by the police and insurance companies. I’m just upset about the car, it’s such a shame, people need to slow down on that road. People do turn right, I’m devastated, absolutely devastated.’

In August, Jack caused damage to a friend’s vehicle after crashing into their parked car when he was thrown out and banned from his local pub.

The former pen salesman was asked to leave the Bull’s Head in Chislehurst before hitting the Mercedes GLA that was stationary on the road outside.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Jack was at the Bull’s Head on Saturday but was told to leave by staff. Despite their warning, Jack returned to the pub on Sunday, only to be reminded that he was banned.

‘After leaving on Sunday he crashed into the back of a friend’s car that was parked outside the pub, and he drove off. Staff at the pub called the police, who came out to the scene to take statements.’

An eyewitness added: ‘We saw Jack drive straight into the back of the car but instead of getting out to check everything was okay, he drove off.

‘The worry was that he wasn’t safe to be behind the wheel so a decision was made to call the police.’

A spokesman for Metropolitan Police confirmed: ‘Police were called at 18:30hrs on Sunday, 2 August to Royal Parade in Chislehurst following reports of a car collision with a parked vehicle.

‘Officers attended. The driver had left the scene prior to their arrival. There have been no arrests.’

A spokesman for Jack said: ‘We can confirm Jack was in a small car collision at his local pub after he wasn’t allowed entry as he had not reserved a table in accordance with Covid regulations.

‘The car that Jack had an incident with had no one in it while it was parked, however Jack is friends with the owner.

‘The Met Police have dropped the incident as Jack and the car owner are resolving the small damage caused to the car between themselves directly.’

It was revealed last week by MailOnline that Jack had split from girlfriend Connie after a two-month romance.

The Love Island 2018 winner deleted the loved-up picture of him and Connie that sparked engagement rumours in August, as he plans to focus on his fitness and boxing career as a single man.

A source told MailOnline the reality star is also keen to concentrate on being a dad to his 10-month-old daughter Blossom, who he shares with former fling Casey Ranger.

‘Jack is a single man again, it didn’t work out with Connie but they’re still friends and didn’t end on bad terms,’ an insider explained.

‘His fitness schedule is round-the-clock and he’s very dedicated to reaching his goals in boxing, being in a relationship just doesn’t fit at the moment.

‘He’s also a father so any girlfriend he welcomes into his life needs to be understanding of that, which isn’t always easy.’

Jack became a dad to daughter Blossom with with ex Casey Ranger, just 18 months after finding fame on Love Island with ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer, 24.

The former couple, who refused to film together for new ITV2 series Love Island: What Happened Next, won the show’s £50,000 prize in 2018.

Dani is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence, who she briefly split from in March – with the couple reconciling months later.
