ITV execs ‘left FUMING’ as BBC poach stars Amanda Holden and Alison Hammond for I Can See Your Voice

Following the news that the BBC have recruited Amanda Holden and Alison Hammond for a brand new show, ITV bosses have reportedly been left irked by the signing.

Amanda and Alison are mainstays on ITV – with the former being a long-term judge on Britain’s Got Talent and the latter a This Morning presenter – but they’ve swapped sides for new series I Can See Your Voice.

According to a source, one senior ITV source has declared that it’s ‘extremely annoying’, reports The Mirror.

This follows other ITV stars making a move, with Amanda’s fellow BGT judge appearing on The Greatest Dancer on BBC One, alongside Jordan Banjo, a former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star, and Cheryl, ex-X Factor judge.

Alison’s This Morning co-star Holly Willoughby and The Chase’s Bradley Walsh also switched channels to present a one off festive show, Take Off, which then was commissioned for a full series.

Paddy McGuinness will also feature on I Can See Your Voice, also an ITV regular on the likes of Celebrity Juice.

Paddy is now also a host of Top Gear, another BBC show. Also on the panel will be Jimmy Carr.

In a further twist, I Can See Your Voice is suspiciously similar in format to ITV show The Masked Singer, and sees two players going head to head to win a cash prize by guessing if the mystery singers standing before them can or can’t sing, without hearing them perform a single note.

The singing participants will journey through a quest of lip sync challenges and will provide hidden clues to the celebrity panel trio to help the competing players decipher the authentic singer.

Each week, the players will whittle down the vocalists to a final singing participant, who will then perform a duet with a guest pop star to reveal if they are a singing sensation or a musical charlatan.

If the competing contestants guess correctly, they will take home the cash prize, but if they guess incorrectly, the singing imposter will take home the money.

Jimmy thinks the new game show will be a welcome addition to small screens as he said: ‘I think a silly, crazy, fun hour of telly is just what we all need. And it doesn’t come any more silly, crazy or fun than this.’

Meanwhile, Amanda thinks her judging experience earned on Britain’s Got Talent will be useful. She added: ‘I’ve seen first-hand over my many years as a judge, how acts can shock you with an incredible voice.

‘With my experience on stage, television and radio I think I have one of the best pair of eyes in the business for spotting talent so the masqureaders will really have to up their game to fool me!’

Alison believes her accurate assessment of others will allow her to separate the wheat from the chaff, as she declared: ‘I Can See Your Voice is going to be great fun and I am thrilled to be taking part.

‘I’m a good judge of character and reckon I’ll be able to spot who can sing or not straight away, so the players are in good hands if they hope to win that cash prize!’
