A gunman shouting Allahu Akbar has beheaded a man in northern Paris before being shot by the police, local reports have said on Friday.

The incident occurred in Conflans-Saint-Honorine in the afternoon, and the alleged attacker was later injured in the in the neighbouring town of Eragny.

Police are said to have chased the assailant after the unidentified person threatened officers with a weapon.
