Armie Hammer explains THAT saucy comment for Timothee Chalamet

Little did he know, when Armie Hammer left a thirsty comment on his good friend and Call Me By Your Name costar Timothee Chalamet’s Instagram on Tuesday, it would create an internet firestorm.

The Social Network actor, 34, was speaking to Variety about his new Netflix film Rebecca on Thursday, when the saucy note invariably came up.

‘People got so excited. I don’t think they realized that I was actually making fun of how ridiculous people sound on the internet now,’ Armie said by way of explanation.

And while they were on the topic of Chalamet, 24, Hammer also made sure to put to rest any speculation that his recent comment had something to do with a sequel to their beloved 2017 team-up.

‘I did not comment to announce anything about Call Me By Your Name. I promise,’ he said.

‘I still haven’t seen the script. I don’t know if there is a script and they’re just not giving it to me or if there isn’t a script. I don’t know exactly where we are in the process. I think 2020 knocked everything for a loop so I don’t know. We’ll see where we are when the dust settles.’

As for the now-infamous comment Armie left for Timothee on social media earlier this week, it was attention-getting, to say the least.

Under a brooding and attractive sunlit photo of Timothee on Instagram, Armie let his appreciation be known with an NSFW comment followed by a string of saucy emojis.

‘OoOOOoOoooo KING SH*T!!’ Hammer wrote, followed by the suggestive emojis for eggplants, water drops, hearts and fire.

The selfie showed Chalamet from below, his unkempt hair coming out from underneath a baseball cap, with a faint hint of stubble apparent on his chiseled face.

Armie wasn’t the only one to shower the Oscar nominee with unadulterated praise – actor Josh Brolin chimed in with the simple comment, ‘Stud’.

The film, directed by Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, earned Oscars nominations for Best Picture among others, and landed Timothee his first Best Actor nomination.

The film won Oscar gold for Best Adapted Screenplay, for film veteran James Ivory.

Fans fell in love with the escapist, nostalgic tale of young love between two men in 1980s-era Italy, and have long been lobbying for a sequel.

That desire became more concrete last year, as the writer of the 2007 novel upon which Call Me By Your Name is based, André Aciman, published a sequel tome, entitled Find Me.

And the sequel is currently listed as ‘announced’ on IMDb, with Armie, Timothee, along with Michael Stuhlbarg attached.

There is currently no word on when production will start, as the script is said to still be in ‘Treatment/Outline’ phase, according to the film database.
