He dedicated a moving performance of his song Never Break to his wife on Wednesday night at the Billboard Music Awards.

And John Legend kept his focus on family as he brought his two children to the grocery store in Los Angeles.

The 41-year-old musician looked dapper in a black ensemble after moving viewers to tears with an incredible production dedicated to Chrissy Teigen following the tragic loss of their baby Jack.

Kelly Clarkson introduced her friend with love, telling the audience: ‘He and Chrissy just have this warm way of inviting us into their world, the highs and the lows.

‘Our hearts go out to you both in this very difficult time and I’m thankful that you continue to share your light and your talent with all of us for the very special performance, possibly my favorite of the night.’

Legend sat at a piano and announced ‘this is for Chrissy’ before singing the emotional ballad.

Chrissy and John bravely shared the loss of their unborn child just two weeks ago. 

Teigen suffered complications throughout the pregnancy and was more than halfway through her second trimester with their third child, who they named Jack. 

‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.’

‘We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us.’

‘Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever,’ she continued. ‘To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.’
