Canadian-born actress Cobie Smulders is proud to exercise her right to vote in America for the first time.

On Thursday, the Avengers actress was seen with her husband Taran Killam, 38, as they dropped off their mail-in ballots at an official drop box in Los Angeles.

The actress, who is also 38, rocked an ‘I am a voter shirt’ and put on an animated display as she cast her vote in the US after becoming a citizen last month.

The patriotic outing comes a month after her ABC Signature show, Stumptown was cancelled after being previously renewed for a second season.

Despite the upsetting career news, Cobie was beaming from her newfound citizenship as she and Taran performed their civic duties.

The How I Met Your Mother star kept it casual in jeans and black converse, as she let her shirt do all the talking.

Masked up, she paired the casual look with a pink beret and Ray-Ban sunglasses as she dropped off her envelope.

Joining his wife in festive attire, Taran sported a grey Obama shirt and a ‘vote’ face mask for the occasion.

Taking to social media after the momentous event, Cobie posted a selfie to Instagram, where she showed off her ‘I Voted’ sticker.

An outspoken Democrat, Cobie has taken to social media for the past few weeks to express her views and urge her 1.8M followers to vote.

On September 16, it was revealed that Stumptown would be no more, even though they had an agreement to start filming season two.

A source cited, ‘timing and scheduling needs’ in addition to the pandemic, as the reasons the network would not be moving forward as planned.

At the time of the call, the high-end production had no firm start date, though the expensive show was looking at serious budget increases due to COVID.

The drama was based on a graphic novel about private investigator Dex Parios, played by Smulders.

Despite ABC Signature’s decision to cancel, they were reportedly going to help the show shop around and find a new home.
