Heidi Montag of The Hills is every inch the doting mother

She is every inch the doting mother. 

And Heidi Montag cut a casual figure as she stepped out with her only son Gunner Stone, three, who she shares with fellow reality star husband Spencer Pratt, 37, on Tuesday. 

The Hills: New Beginnings star, 34, got into the Halloween spirit in skeleton leggings as she collected Gunner from his private karate class in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. 

Heidi paired her spooky leggings with a turquoise tie-dye t-shirt for the outing and carried her essentials in a Gucci backpack. 

Highlighting her pretty features, Heidi opted for a fresh-faced look and put safety first with a lilac face mask. 

The blonde pulled her platinum locks into a chic topknot and wore comfortable rose pink trainers as she completed her mummy duties. 

Meanwhile she dressed Gunner in a sweet red t-shirt paired with blue shorts and Nike trainers. 

It comes after Heidi and Spencer are gearing for season two of The Hills: New Beginnings as production is reportedly due to start sometime in October.

Producers of the upcoming season of the hit MTV show are currently flirting with the idea of keeping the cast under one roof for the shooting season which would last a few months. 

Though not confirmed, the idea to keep the cast in close quarters would liken the show to more of a Big Brother or Jersey Shore which is a different direction from the previous season.

The new format would help with ease of production and would set the stage for added drama but with several cast members like Heidi and Spencer having young kids at home, it seems like a longshot.
