Inside Olivia and Alex Bowen’s £1m home: Love Island stars open the doors to their Essex property

Olivia and Alex Bowen have given fans a look inside their sprawling £1million Essex home, five months into extensive renovations on the property.

The Love Island stars moved into their five-bedroom countryside home in February and have subsequently spent the past several months giving it a big makeover.

TV personalities Olivia, 26, and Alex, 28, have even given their home its own dedicated Instagram account, as they share regular updates on the progress.

Visitors are all but guaranteed to be wowed by the newly revamped grand entrance hall, which features a sweeping imposing staircase and a stylish light fixture.

The home also features abundant space for entertaining, thanks to a breathtaking kitchen, featuring granite countertops and spacious open plan living areas.

One of the fixtures Olivia appears to be particularly proud of is the impressive new four-tier chandelier, which descends from the ceiling of the upper hallway.

Their living room includes a chic white sofa, covered with a grey blanket and three large cushions, which her dog Winnie had already taken a liking to.

Meanwhile, the dining area boasts a rustic 2.4metre dining table, which she recently dressed with a range of high-end crockery.

Earlier this year, Olivia shared that the kitchen project was completed with an enthusiastic post, writing that she was very pleased with the results.

She penned: ‘WE’RE IN! It’s so difficult to get a photo to show you guys really how beautiful this room is in all its glory, I can’t seem to capture it – I’ll keep trying though obv. I think maybe it’s because it’s a feeling rather than a look.

‘This was our first big project on the house & kitchens are my FAVOURITE room, so I really just wanted everything to be perfect & it has actually come out exactly how I imagined it, which hasn’t really happened before.

‘I’m quite overwhelmed actually however silly that may sound to some! There is still little bits to go like the armchair, coffee table, glass shelves, curtains etc BUT it’s finally useable!

‘This is now officially our kitchen, living & dining space. Thanks guys for all your support along the way! Least that’s 1 room done, 718246 more to go… P.S look how cute Winnie is.’

It’s been a busy period of Olivia and Alex, with them trying to make progress on their new home during lockdown.

Back in February, the couple told OK! magazine that along with turning one of the bedrooms into a ‘dog room,’ they’re also going to completely re-work the Master Bedroom, and have one room especially for wardrobe space.

On top of that, they also revealed that since getting the keys for their dream house they’ve learned that Gemma Collins is one of their neighbours.

The couple, who wed in September 2018, explained they’re going to gradually rework the house room by room, adding that this is the place they’d eventually like to start a family.

Speaking about her plans for the bedrooms, Olivia revealed she’s already hoping to renovate one room to become a space for their French bulldogs Winnie and Reggie.

Asked how many bedrooms there are in the house, Olivia said: ‘Five, but one of them is obviously going to be a dressing room.

‘We’ve got a dog room, too. We’re going to convert the office into their bedroom – they are so spoilt! We want to put a door that goes straight to the garden, get them a little shower and dog beds.’

Olivia revealed her plans to revamp one of the bedrooms in an Instagram post, as she vowed that the pooches wouldn’t be spending their nights in her bed with Alex anymore.

The reality star also revealed she’s got a surprising neighbour in the form of TOWIE legend Gemma Collins.

She added: ‘[Gemma] is five minutes down the road. She’s actually invited us over for a roast dinner, and a barbecue in the summer. I love her. I’ll pop over to hers next time we run out of milk.’

Olivia celebrated two years of marriage with husband Alex last month, with the pair dining at London’s Scott’s one night and STK the following evening.

The lovebirds also pulled out all the stops to celebrate their anniversary with a romantic stay at five-star hotel ME London in the days surrounding it.

Their relationship has gone the distance after they first got together before reality TV cameras, and they’re one of the rare Love Island couples to have stayed together.

The pair tied the knot in a lavish Essex wedding back in September 2018 following a two-year romance.

When asked why she thinks her and Alex’s relationship has worked so well, she told MailOnline: ‘It’s such a hard one to answer because I was never ready for a relationship when I went in there and we tried to be friends for such a long time.

‘We were sort of trying to make it really casual and not really looking at it as a relationship and I think that’s partly the reason why. It happened so naturally in such an unnatural environment, we just clicked.

‘I think it is really hard to find. I think as well we trust each other, we have fun together and we also have created a little bubble that we like to live in where we keep ourselves to ourselves.

‘I think that’s a really key thing in this industry to remember why you’re with someone and to respect and trust them and that’s all that matters.’
