Holly Willoughby is left red-faced as she giggles over a banana with ‘some girth’ before she and Phillip Schofield enjoy a beer during a make your own pub segment

Holly Willoughby was left red-faced as she giggled over a banana that had ‘some girth’ during Wednesday’s This Morning.

The TV presenter, 39, and her co-star Phillip Schofield were in hysterics as they had a look at an accidentally racy snap as it featured two bananas in one piece of fruit.

Discussing the picture, Holly and Phil began to laugh after she said: ‘It has got some girth, I’ll give him that.’

‘But look at the difference in colour from one side of the banana skin to the other, one of those bananas is older than the other for a start.

‘One is not even ripe, the other is a few days old, and I have a banana here, I remember there was a trick you can do where you cut the banana and you open it it’s all in bits.’

Trying to prove her point, Holly then tried to cut a banana in half using a long needle that also didn’t break the skin, which Phil also tried out.

As Phil cut the banana in half in a way that mimicked the photo, he joked: ‘I can’t believe we are doing this on TV!’

The pair then couldn’t help but laugh as they saw an array of other snaps of fruit and vegetables that were inadvertently racy.

A sweet potato that appeared to have a phallic shape left the pair reeling, as Phil said: ‘Have a look and tell us if you think this is real, or just wishful thinking!’

And Holly responded: ‘I don’t quite know what to say about that, I can’t look at that any longer.’

Later on in the show, Holly and Phil enjoyed a pint of beer each as they showed viewers how they can make their own pub at home, given restrictions on how long they can now stay open amid the coroanvirus crisis.

The pair chatted away as they showed off an array of accessories that could make the perfect home pub, with several items personalised with Phil’s name or initials so that he could take them home himself.

One sign said ‘Holly and Phil’s bar, nobody leaves sober’, while he was also offered a specially made tumbler for a gin and tonic that had his initials on it.
