‘Much love and respect to our warrior Ford Theodore Miller Murphy, who battled neuroblastoma cancer at 18 months and survived and thrived and today celebrated his SIXTH birthday,’ Murphy began in an Instagram post along with an adorable photo of Ford snuggled up in an animal print sleeping bag and stuffed cheetah head.

Murphy also took time to thank the doctors and helpers who treated their son at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles with ‘love and care’.

‘There is in fact a wing with Ford’s name on it to honor his spirit and all the children who are still in the fight,’ he wrote in reference to the $10 million donation he made in his son’s honor.

The six-time Emmy winner ended his emotional statement by explaining the big beaming smile on his son’s face in the photo.

‘Ford loves jungle animals…thus the cheetah sleeping bag. We love you, Fordie.’

Ford was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of pediatric cancer that starts in nerve cells and is most often found in an embryo or fetus, in 2016, according to American Cancer Society.

He underwent multiple procedures to battle the cancer before being deemed cancer free in a statement by Murphy in October 2019.
