Cake Boss Buddy Valastro practices icing a cake with left hand…two weeks after bowling accident

Buddy Valastro was involved in a horrific bowling accident that forced him to undergo two emergency surgeries on his dominant, right hand.

But, nearly two-weeks after the incident, the 43-year-old Cake Boss was back in action as he practiced icing a cake with his left hand on Saturday.

‘Family time is the BEST time! Doing it all over again, left handed,’ captioned Valastro, who shared photos of the feat with his 3.9million Instagram followers.

In the photos, Buddy was surrounded by his wife Lisa and their four children, Sofia, 17, Buddy Jr., 16, Marco, 13, and Carlo, nine, at their home in Montville, New Jersey, where he has been recovering.

He rested his cast on his family’s wooden dining table and he held on firmly to the piping bag as he administered intricate details onto the cake.

Donning a white v-neck tee and a single gold chain, Valastro kept his eyes glued to the cake, while his family anxiously watched from the sidelines.

Each family member also had a cake to decorate in order to make the practice session into a group activity.

On September 20, Buddy got his hand caught in a one of the pinsetters in his home’s bowling alley that happened to be malfunctioning.

In a photo uploaded to his Instagram on September 23, he showed off his hefty cast as he rested in a hospital bed.

‘I’ve reset it a hundred times. [This time] I guess I looked away, and then my hand got pinned. The metal barb pushed right through the middle of my ring finger and my middle finger. I was stuck in a machine,’ recalled the TLC star to People

He is now looking at months of physical therapy to repair the nerve, tendon, and muscle damage he sustained.

‘It’s really preliminary right now, but they’re saying it’s definitely going to be a long road to recovery…I have a thing with my hands. If I get a paper cut on my hand, I’m p***ed off,’ he explained.

Buddy also expressed to the outlet at the time that he was worried the injury may prevent him from ever baking again.

‘My hands to me are my lifeline of everything I do. And I wonder, “Am I ever going to do what I used to be able to do?”‘
