Amy Schumer is left speechless in a hilarious video of the first time her son Gene says ‘dad’

She and her husband Chris Fischer welcomed their son Gene in May 2019.

And Amy Schumer was shocked to see how her 15-month-old son was growing up on Sunday when he said ‘dad’ for the first time.

The 39-year-old Trainwreck star was absolutely floored after her son spoke the milestone word in an Instagram video.

Milestone: Amy Schumer, 39, shared an adorable video to Instagram on Sunday of her 15-month-old son Gene saying ‘dad’ for the first time

Amy originally filmed the video with friends to send to her husband, who was out of town.

She was dressed comfortably for a day at home with a gray T-shirt from a local oyster farm her blonde hair back in a ponytail, while Gene had on a green T-shirt and a towel around his neck to keep his food off his clothes.

‘We just wanted to say, “Hi daddy, we miss you. We hope you’re having a fun day,”‘ Amy began.

‘Can you say, “dad?”‘ she asked Gene as she leaned in toward his high chair.

He did it! To her surprise, Gene said something between 'cat' and 'dad,' which was close enough to make her mouth drop open before she shouted with delight and started laughing

Her friend off to the side also started clapping while the camera shook as her male friend who was taping everything started to laugh.

But all the commotion scared Gene, who slammed his sippy cup down on his tray and flipped his head back to let out a loud wail.

Amy cooed at him and tried to pat his head to calm him down.

‘This video was clearly a surprise to us. Getting to experience these first moments with my son makes me feel so lucky,’ she wrote in the caption.

But Amy ended her caption on a surprisingly dark note, as she referenced a young Black man who was killed by police.

‘I think of my friend Angela Henry’s son. I would like to ask anyone reading this to google DJ Henry,’ she concluded.

Henry was a student at Pace University in New York in 2010 when he went to a bar to celebrate with friends after his homecoming game, according to CBS.

During the celebrations, another group of patrons got into a fight and police were called, though Henry wasn’t among the brawlers.

Henry, who police said was parked in a fire lane, tried to drive his car away from the bar, but he was shot through the windshield by a police officer who claimed he was trying to run him down.

The officer later admitted that he might have been able to step aside, and Henry’s friend in the car denied that he was trying to run down the officer or that he was driving fast.

Henry’s family eventually received a $6 million partial settlement, but no charges were ever filed for his killing.

His death received renewed attention this year following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, which spurred celebrities including Rihanna and Charlize Theron to write a letter to US Attorney General William Barr asking for the case to be re-investigated.

The subject has been important to Amy, who revealed Tuesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she and her husband protest for racial justice every single day at 10:30 a.m. near their home in Martha’s Vineyard.

”Every day, we honor the life of a different person of color whose life was stolen by law enforcement,’ she said somberly during her otherwise lively virtual appearance.

The couple had only been together a few months before marrying.

In May 2019 they welcomed their first son, Gene.

Amy originally wanted to pay tribute to her good friend, comedian Dave Attell, by making Attell her son’s middle name, but they later switched it out in favor of David after realizing that Gene Attell Fischer sounded too much like ‘genital fissure,’ as she admitted to Ellen.
