Margaret Qualley and mom Andie Macdowell will star as mother and daughter in Margot Robbie produced Netflix series Maid

Margaret Qualley is one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars. 

And the 25-year-old will star alongside her real-life mom Andie Macdowell in the Netflix series Maid, Deadline reported on Friday. 

Margot Robbie serves as a producer for the series, after starring alongside Qualley in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

The young actress will play series lead Alex, a single-mom, who turns to housekeeping as she battles ‘poverty, homelessness and bureaucracy,’ according to the outlet. 

While Macdowell will play her mother Paula a self-proclaimed artist, who is the life of every party.’ 

The Four Weddings and a Funeral star will portray the character who is further described as ‘eccentric, passionate, scrappy, and unabashed about her sexuality, which attracts an endless rotation of boyfriends.’ 

Paula appears to be a complex character who is in a ‘constant struggle with her psychological demons – a struggle she has never acknowledged, and often does not win.’

Margaret is one of three children that actress Andie McDowell shares with her ex-husband Paul Qualley, whom she wed in 1986 and divorced in 1999.

Her older sister Rainey, 30, is an actress and singer and there’s an older brother Justin, 34. 

Late last month it was announced Qualley would join the cast alongside Love Simon’s Nick Robinson and Dreamgirls’ actress Anika Noni Rose. 

The series is based on Stephanie Land’s 2019 memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive.

Suicide Squad star Robbie will produce under her LuckyChap Entertainment banner, alongside John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

Shameless writer Molly Smith Metzler will serve as showrunner on the series. 

Though it’s unknown when IFC will release his upcoming film My Salinger Year, the acquisition is a step towards crowds getting to see it. 

Joanna Rakoff’s memoir of the same name served as source material and follows a young writer in 90s New York City who begins to work for author J.D. Salinger. 

Qualley, 25, will star in the series, while Robbie, 30 [pictured last year], will serve as a producer on the project, per Deadline

Once Hollywood productions begin again, she had two movie projects lined up.

She’s attached to star opposite Robert Pattinson in the drama The Stars At Noon about a woman involved in a shadowy mission in Nicaragua in 1984.

She’s also set to play the lead in the horror film A Head Full of Ghosts which centers on a woman reflecting on her terrifying childhood 20 years later.
