However it isn’t all bad news – while going on the road is unlikely, Jimmy says the band may make another album.

‘Maybe there’s more of a chance that we might make a record, but I don’t know if we’re ever gonna go out and do, like, a major tour as such,’ he said.

‘It could be the odd gig here and there for special events or special occasions but I don’t see Cold Chisel doing a major tour ever again.’

Cold Chisel were formed in Adelaide in 1973, with Ian Moss on guitar and vocals, Steve Prestwich on drums and Don Walker on piano and keyboards.

Jimmy joined the band at the end of that year, on lead vocals – he was just 17 at the time.

Blood Moon, the band’s ninth studio album, was released just last year, in 2019, and they last toured at the beginning of this year.

Jimmy is currently back out on the road for the first time since COVID-19 restrictions came into play.

The rocker performed at Top End Breakout Tour in Darwin on September 26, where he was joined by a number of other acts for a live, eight-hour mini festival.

Jimmy told The Daily Telegraph: ‘We are starting up in Darwin but we want to be playing everywhere’.
