Alex Cullen, 39, shows off his RIPPED physique as he goes shirtless getting a spray tan on Today

He’s the Today show’s resident sports reporter who officially joined the new lineup late last year. 

And on Friday, Alex Cullen shocked viewers when he showed off his six-pack abs live on the show.

The 39-year-old stripped off and went shirtless for a spray tan with host Karl Stefanovic, 46, who was even left shocked by Alex’s ripped physique.

‘Wow, you are ripped! Hey, he’s not supposed to be that fit. Why do I look so bad? Fix this up, this is appalling,’ Karl said about Alex.  

Karl got spray tanned by his co-host, Allison Langdon, who had no idea how to apply the fake tan. 

Alex was shocked as a professional spray tan artist sprayed his body and his abs became more defined.

‘Wowee,’ Alex said.  

Karl however wasn’t too impressed with his spray tan, saying it was ‘terrible.’

‘That’s a little bit dark. I’ve got to go out tonight,’ he said. 

Karl said on the show on Thursday that he wanted a ‘Donald Trump spray tan’ and even got sprayed with a Brisbane Broncos logo on his chest.  

The tans occurred at the end of the show and helped introduce Today Extra. 

Today Extra’s Richard Wilkins seemed shocked at the boys getting a spray tan live on TV. 

‘You go to all this trouble to make a great show and they give us that for a lead in,’ Dickie said. 

In December, Nine announced that Alex would be officially joining the Today show as a sports reporter. 

He was previously a reporter for Seven’s Sunday night. 

In November last year, Channel Nine made the shock announcement that Karl would be returning to the Today show in 2020, alongside Allison Langdon. They replaced Georgie Gardner and Deborah Knight.
