Katie Price will be in a wheelchair for SIX more months as she heals from foot surgery… but doting boyfriend Carl Woods is ‘just what the doctor ordered’

Katie Price has been told that she’ll be in her wheelchair for another six months as she continues to recover from her foot surgery.

The former glamour model, 42, broke both of her feet and ankles in a freak accident while on holiday in Turkey with her family and beau Carl, 31, in July.

However the update comes as good news for the star as she had thought it would be closer to a year before she could walk again – with Katie crediting her boyfriend with her speedy recovery.

Recovering: Katie Price will be in her wheelchair for another six months as she continues to heal after having surgery on both of her feet

The new six-month timeframe means Katie will still be relying on her wheelchair well into the start of 2021 but she is determined to stay positive.

The source told The Sun: ‘This has been the most amazing news ever for Katie – but she’s nervous too, as the thought of being able to stand on her feet again is mind-boggling.

‘For Katie, it will feel like a toddler learning to take her first steps, but it’s much sooner than she thought as she was told by doctors that she could be in a wheelchair for a whole year after the operation.’

Katie’s representative told MailOnline: ‘Katie knew there was a long recovery ahead but is doing so well – Carl seems to be just what the doctor ordered!’

The star has previously revealed she feared that her horrific injury would leave her ‘paralysed,’ after she plummeted 25ft off a wall at a theme park in Turkey.

Katie underwent an eight-hour operation to rebuild her feet after she was ‘mucking about’ following a few drinks and jumped off what she thought was a ‘small wall’.

The model also revealed that she returned to The Priory for some time because her ‘mental health’ has been ‘badly affected’ by her injuries.   ,

It comes after Katie hit back at wheelchair users who criticised her for voicing concerns over Carl fancying her while she is in a wheelchair – with her saying: ‘I’m allowed to be insecure’.

Katie has been dating Carl for a matter of months but has frequently professed her love for the hunk, who had a fleeting appearance on the ITV2 show.

After voicing her concerns over the passion in their romance and her mobility issues, Katie has now revealed she has received backlash.

She told New! Magazine: ‘I’ve had a lot of abuse from people in wheelchairs because I said I felt like Carl wouldn’t fancy me in a wheelchair.

‘I’m not saying people who are in wheelchairs shouldn’t be fancied. I’m saying, I’m in a new relationship and he met me how I was before so why should he fancy me like this? I’m allowed to feel insecure!’

Katie is mum to Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, who she shares with ex Kieran Hayler.

The star is also mother to Harvey, 18, with ex Dwight Yorke, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, with former husband Peter Andre.
