Dr. Seuss’ Oh, The Places You’ll Go! and Cat in the Hat spin-off receive movie adaptations with Warner Bros.
Warner Animation Group announced the movie adaptation of beloved children’s book, Oh The Places You’ll Go!
J.J. Abrams is set to produce the classic tale through his company, Bad Robot Productions, according to Variety.
The adaptation will be Abrams’ first venture into the animated world, with Bad Robot’s head of motion pictures Hannah Minghella also earning a producers credit.

Theodor Geisel — better known as Dr. Seuss — wrote and illustrated the book which was published by Random House on Jan. 22, 1990.
‘Dr Seuss’ Oh The Places You’ll Go! is full of the inspiration, imagination, wonder and hope that has encouraged and entertained readers of all ages for generations,’ Mignhella told Deadline. ‘It’s hard to imagine a more iconic or beloved book to bring to life as Bad Robot’s first animated feature for WB.’
Fans can hold off on purchasing tickets anytime soon as its reported the theatrical release is set for 2027.

With another addition to the Seuss crew, Erica Rivinoja and Art Hernandez are set as directors of The Cat in the Hat, the animated feature film based on the 1957 children’s book.
The film was first announced in 2018 as part of the Warners-Seuss partnership and is looking toward a release in 2024.

The long-term project with Warner Bros. deviates from previous Seuss films which were created on an individual basis, according to Susan Brandt, president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
The 2008 film Horton Hears a Who! was made with Fox’s Blue Sky Studios while The Lorax and The Grinch were created by Universal’s Illumination studios.
‘For the first time we’re not just doing one film for one book. We’re going to franchise-build beyond the initial story of these books and find out what happens next,’ she told Vanity Fair. ‘I call it stretching the fabric. How far can it go, to go a little bit deeper with our characters.’
