  • Luckily, the man made it out alive and a video of the incident has gone viral

This is the terrifying moment a man nearly drowns in a river while he is trying to record a video for social media.

The man, who is identified only as ‘Dani’, is filmed trying to swim against the current of fast-flowing water, apparently to reach a cave in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

However, he gets into difficulty due to the current’s strength and begins to be swept backwards by the current into a rocky canyon.

In a last-ditch attempt he clings to one of the rocks at the side of the river for safety but the power of the water is too strong and sweeps him away.

The current continues to pull him towards the raging torrent below him and he is seen swept towards the edge and being pummelled onto rocks.

His body disappears under the fast-flowing water as the person filming frantically screams ‘Dani!’.

The woman continues yelling the man’s name, apparently looking for him in the water, but stops recording him as the video comes to an end.

Dani later posed for the pictures showing the injuries on his torso and body which was battered and bruised as he was pounded against the rocks as he was swept downstream.

The person that was filming the moment posted the pictures and wrote: ‘For those of you wondering what happened to Dani. He is alive.

‘Hurt from the rocks but alive.’

The date of the incident is unclear but it has received 9.7 million views since it was published online last week.
