ABC’s Hard Quiz SMASHES Channel 10’s The Bachelor in the ratings

Despite delivering an explosive episode filled with glamour and drama, The Bachelor‘s semi-final ratings were a disappointment.

Channel 10’s hit reality dating show – currently in its eighth season – was the fourth most viewed program across the country for the 7pm timeslot on Wednesday.

The most watched show of the night was ABC’s Hard Quiz, which pulled in an impressive 729,000 viewers according to TV Tonight.

It was followed by Channel Nine’s renovation reality series was second with 701,000 viewers, while news program 7:30 hit 637,000.

The Bachelor limped in at fourth place, attracting 584,000 viewers.

It’s a huge drop from last season’s semi-final with Matt Agnew, which attracted 803,000 viewers last year.

Despite The Bachelor’s poor ratings, the episode was still the No. 1 show of the night among viewers under 50.

The much-anticipated finale of The Bachelor on Thursday night will see Locky Gilbert choose between Irena Srbinovska and Bella Varelis. 

He recently shit down rumours that he’s no longer dating the winner, telling New Idea he was ‘110,000 per cent in love’ with his chosen contestant. 

‘Excited is an understatement,’ Locky said of finally being able to reveal his girlfriend.

‘I cannot wait. I am beyond excited to be able to finally say it out loud… who I have chosen to spend the rest of my life with.’ 

According to betting odds, Irena is predicted to win, although there’s still a chance that Bella could leave with Locky in an upset.
