He was given the difficult task of informing Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska that they couldn’t travel to Victoria for their hometown date due to the State’s escalating coronavirus situation.

And viewers on Wednesday night’s episode of The Bachelor were left fascinated by Osher Günsberg’s pronunciation of the deadly virus, COVID-19.

Fans couldn’t resist rushing to Twitter to mock his delivery of the word, with some admitting that he had managed to make the unpleasant word sound ‘fancy’.

Osher was seen interrupting Locky and Irena’s smitten date by telling them: ‘The COVID situation in Melbourne has degraded significantly since you came back to the mansion.

‘Now all of Melbourne is back in lockdown, and they have closed the border between New South Wales and Victoria.’

While a devastated Irena and Locky hugged and figured out their next course of action, viewers at home were amused by the way Osher’s had pronounced the lethal respiratory virus.

One said: ‘Anyone going to talk about how “osher gunsberg just pronounced covid #TheBachelorAU.’

Someone else added: ‘Why can’t Osher say COVID properly?’

Others liked his take on the word, with one saying: ‘I like the way Osher says covid. So fancy’ while another echoed:  ‘Osher, but why do you say “Co-Vid” like “covid” it makes sound so fancy.’  

Meanwhile, Wednesday’s episode saw Locky send home Izzy Sharman-Firth and intruder Bec Cvilikas at the rose ceremony.

After embracing Bec, it was an emotional Izzy’s turn to say goodbye, tearing up as she hugged Locky before he walked her out.

Before leaving, he told her: ‘You’re so amazing, you bring out the best in me. I’ve had literally the best time.’

Locky gave his final two roses to Irena Srbinovska and Bella Varelis, former friends turned rivals, at the end of the rose ceremony.
