Lucy Mecklenburgh shuts down return to The Only Way Is Essex for tenth anniversary special

She rose to fame when she joined reality show The Only Way Is Essex. 

But Lucy Mecklenburgh has reportedly snubbed a possible return to the show, as several original cast-members are expected to appear on the tenth anniversary reunion this year. 

Instead, the reality star, 29, is expected to join the likes of Mark Wright and Samantha Faiers who turned down the anniversary special, citing they are now in a different place in their lives.

In March, she gave birth to her first child, Roman with her soap star partner, Ryan Thomas. 

According to The Sun, due to her family and work commitments, Lucy feels she doesn’t have the time to pop back on the ITVBe show.

An insider said to the website: ‘Lucy loves the show and has a real soft spot for it but unfortunately she’s too busy to fit in filming for the reunion.

‘She has so much going on at the moment.

‘Between being a new parent and her business, there is barely any time she could put aside to be on the show.   

‘She tried to make it work but when everything was taken into account, something had to give. It’s sad but not really surprising.’

Since she first appeared on the show in 2010, the reality starlet has reportedly amassed a significant £3.5 million fortune. 

Her former TOWIE co-star, Sam Faiers also netted a whopping £9 million since her debut on the reality show.  

The blonde beauty, 29, also confirmed that she will not appear on the ITVBe show’s ten-year reunion as she revealed she is in a ‘completely different stage’ of her life now.

After leaving TOWIE, Sam went on to find love with Paul Knightley. 

The couple welcomed Paul Jr, four, and Rosie, two, and have established a new form of reality TV success with their show, The Mummy Diaries. 

Sam and Lucy’s mutual ex, Mark Wright, also won’t return to the show as he’s ‘in a different part of his life now’.

The original cast-member is said to have ‘moved on’ and is not planning on making a comeback.

Since leaving TOWIE, Mark has gone on to marry actress Michelle Keegan and start a presenting career with him appearing on Heart Radio throughout the week.

The reality star also recently kickstarted his fitness brand TrainWright as he extends his and Michelle’s £7million empire even further.

However, some of the show’s shining stars are set to return for the tenth reunion special including Joey Essex, Billie Faiers, Jess Wright and Amy Childs.
