It comes after Laura Whitmore revealed her ‘easy’ first date with her now-fiancé, 32, consisted of a comedy gig followed by a trip to the pub, as she sipped on a pint of beer.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the Love Island host shared a cosy snap of herself wearing a fluffy jumper and skinny jeans, while holding a pint of Carling up to her lips.

Laura captioned the shot: ‘Cheers to the weekend! Happy to be supporting our local. Some of my favourite memories are from an impromptu night at my local pub. A little community in a big city that’s a home away from home.

‘I went to a comedy gig on my first date with my partner (HIS idea not mine) it was OK but we didn’t talk because we were in a dark room watching a man I didn’t know tell jokes on the stage.

‘It was only in the pub after that the date got good. When we chatted, it was relaxed and safe… and easy. Many of the traits of our local.’

Laura’s outing comes after she made the heartbreaking revelation earlier this month that she suffered from a miscarriage in 2018 and revealed: ‘It took me a year to talk about my miscarriage’.

She is in a relationship with fellow TV presenter Iain Stirling, and she discussed in a new interview the roller coaster of emotions she experienced after finding out about her unexpected pregnancy.

The presenter quickly became excited about the unplanned news, but during a 12 week scan, the doctors couldn’t detect a heartbeat and she was told that she had lost the baby.

She revealed the guilt she experienced and didn’t know whether to ‘cry or be emotional’ following the tragic news in September 2018.

Laura told The Times: ‘It took me a year to talk about my miscarriage. I’d heard about people having miscarriages when they were trying for babies, but my situation was very different.

‘What happens if you weren’t trying for a baby? I had that guilt of, “I wasn’t expecting this,” so then you change your life. But then suddenly you have to change your head again after the miscarriage.’
