Jeff Lewis takes a dig at ex Gage Edwards while recovering from major neck surgery 

Jeff Lewis has had a strained relationship with his ex Gage Edwards since they split in January 2019. 

And even while recovering from major neck surgery, the Flipping Out star managed to sneak in an unsubtle dig at Edwards. 

Lewis, 50, underwent surgery on Wednesday after being diagnosed with the spinal cord disease Cervical Myelopathy just two weeks before, and that didn’t stop him from taking a gab at his ex. 

His co-host Megan Weaver shared a photo of Lewis post surgery to Instagram recovering in a neck brace and hospital gown on Wednesday.

‘He made it! Thank god I still have a job,’ she wrote.  

Ahead of his surgery, Lewis opened up about his recent diagnosis on his SiriusXM show Jeff Lewis Live, revealing that he sought help after experiencing lower back and neck pain, and instability in his legs.

‘There is a disc actually in my neck that’s pushing against my spinal cord and has bruised my spinal cord, which has caused nerve damage,’ he said.  ‘If it goes untreated it can cause paralyzation — and it gets progressively worse.’

To keep the serious surgery light he joked that he plans to be buried in his 2014 Emmy’s tux by John Varvatos and that post surgery his biggest concern is how to hide the nearly two inch scar on his neck.   

The radio host shared an edited meme image, showing his face photoshopped over a hospital patient. 

His ex Edwards was edited to be standing over him declaring ‘It’s Monroe Edwards now b***h,’ referring to their three-year-old daughter. 

Edwards then unplugged the chord connected to hospital equipment. ‘Thanks for all of the support,’ Lewis captioned the photo.

Lewis and Edwards welcomed Monroe in 2016 via surrogate before splitting in early 2019, after a decade together.

The couple has since been in a bitter custody battle over their daughter.  

During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy show, Jeff confessed that ‘many times over the last year’ he ‘had feelings for [Gage] and I feel like I have regret and, you know, and I go through it, and especially when we have like really nice exchanges and things like that.’

However, he said recent text messages from his former partner turned him off the idea because Edward twisted every sincere thing he said into ‘an insult or an attack.’

Edwards’ only public response was to tell People: ‘I cannot comment on pending litigation.’ 

‘We’ve been in contact for the last couple weeks and it’s been very civil, friendly but then of course, me, who you know, I really just want to resolve all these issues and move past this, and so I started bringing it up, which was probably a bad idea.’

Lewis added: ‘But I did say: “You know, what is it that you want? Like, what is – just tell me what you want.” He’s like, you know, and he goes like: “I want 50% custody.”‘ 

The reality star continued: ‘”Okay, but the financial end of things we’ve never talked about before,” I said. “But now that’s apparently an issue for you, because you told me you didn’t want child support but now you do. What are you looking for?”‘
