Sunrise hosts David Koch and Samantha Armytage lose it over Sam Mac’s wild yodelling segment 

He has gained a reputation for being up for anything during his zany segments.

And on Thursday, Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac left his channel Seven breakfast show colleagues in stitches during a wild segment were he yodelled.

Sam, 38, was surprised in a Sydney park by staff from Matterhorn Swiss Restaurant, which sports reporter Mark Beretta organised to teach him the unusual form of singing.

‘We know how musically gifted you are and something you’ve never done before is yodelled- so your challenge is to learn to yodel. Meet my friend…’ Mark said, as Sam was joined by the group, who were all dressed in traditional Swiss clothing.

Being a good sport, Sam was only too happy to join in and following a quick demo he gave it a go.

‘Oh, you’re a natural,’ his instructor Phil declared.

Much to the delight of David ‘Kochie’ Koch, Samantha Armytage and Natalie Barr, who were back in the studio, Sam then joined in on an energetic rendition of He Taught Me How To Yodel.

While Mark bopped along in the studio, Kochie, Samantha and Natalie could barely hold it together and were shown thrown their heads up and covering their faces as they cracked up with laughter.

Yodelling is a difficult form of singing which involves repeated and rapid changes of pitch.

Meanwhile, the Sunrise team learnt first-hand about the perils of live television on Wednesday. 

While Sam was presenting a segment from inside a dog daycare facility, two pooches began humping each other next to his leg. 

Mortified, Sam awkwardly tried to draw viewers’ attention away from the randy canines by continuing his interview with the facility owners. 

Samantha and Kochie attempted to stifle their laughter for a few seconds, before finally exploding in hysterics.    

‘It’s like the playboy mansion over there!’ Kochie cackled. 

‘I’m going to be one of those viral memes,’ Sam lamented as the animals continued their X-rated display.
