Resident Evil live-action TV series confirmed by Netflix and first plot details are revealed
Get ready to take a trip to Raccoon City.
Netflix confirmed on Thursday that they are putting out a live-action series inspired by highly-popular gaming and movie series Resident Evil.
The eight-episode drama series will be written by the executive producer/co-showrunner of Supernatural Andrew Dabb.

It is also being produced by Constantin Film which was behind the highly successful feature films.
The first details about the project have also been released as it is a completely new story separate from the video game and films and will be centered around two timelines.
However there will be a familiar draw to the video games as two characters of some relation – presumably his daughters – to villain Albert Wexler will be featured on the show.

In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to the corporate town of New Raccoon City before realizing their father ‘may be concealing dark secrets.’
The second timeline will jump 16 years into the future as the Earth has been left ravaged by a zombie-inducing T-Virus with Jade among the 15 million human survivors trying to stay alive in a world infested by six billion mutated beings.
Of the project Dabb said: ‘Resident Evil is my favorite game of all time. I’m incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world’
Bronwen Hughes – who is known for his work on The Walking Dead and The Journey Is The Destination – will direct and executive product the first two episodes.

The film series launched in 2002 as all six movies to date have starred Milla Jovovich with Paul W.S. Anderson at the helm.
