‘Don’t f***k with mama’: Katy Perry tweets about ‘delivering a baby and a record in the same week’… as she gets back to promoting new album Smile

Katy Perry has given birth to her first child, but now she’s already gearing up for another new arrival – the release of her sixth studio album Smile, which drops tomorrow.

The 35-year-old pop star broke her Twitter silence on Thursday, after revealing she and fiance Orlando Bloom have welcomed daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, to promote the new release.

‘Delivering a baby and a record in the same week, dont f**k with mama,’ she wrote, adding hashtags to promote both her new song What Makes A Woman, and her new record Smile.

Katy is known for acerbic wit on the social media site, so it was little surprise for her fans to see her jump straight back on Twitter following the birth of her first child.

She also announced the release of her new animated video for song Harley’s In Hawaii, proving that she doesn’t plan to be taking things easy now she’s a mother.

The Smile singer received countless well wishes from her friends, including Miranda Kerr – previously married to Orlando – who wrote a sweet message on Instagram saying: ‘I’m so happy for you guys. Can’t wait to meet her.’

Katy and Orlando, 43, shared a sweet black and white photo of them holding onto their newborn’s tiny hand yesterday, in a post that they shared via the charity Unicef.

In homage to her baby girl, the Teenage Dream hitmaker had a white daisy visible on her thumb nail as she held Daisy’s hand.

Little Daisy could be seen wearing a white babygro and a patterned hat in the first image.

In their statement to UNICEF, the couple stated that although they are joyously celebrating the birth of their daughter, ‘[they] know [they are] the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as [theirs] was.’

‘Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes.

‘Since COVID-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases.

They added that ‘as parents to a newborn, this breaks [their] hearts, as [they] empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.’

‘As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.

‘In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival.

‘By supporting UNICEF, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ❤️ can bloom with generosity,’ concluded the couple.
