The Bachelor’s ‘oppressed ranga’ Zoe-Clare McDonald is sent home during a shock double elimination… and fans have plenty to say about why she was given the boot

Wednesday’s episode of The Bachelor saw the show’s resident redhead Zoe-Clare McDonald sent packing in a shock double elimination.

After previously claiming she was oppressed because of her hair colour, Bachelor Locky Gilbert gave the 23-year-old her marching orders.

And while Zoe-Clare went quietly, viewers had plenty to say about why the outspoken reality star was sent home, voicing their thoughts on Twitter

Others thought Zoe-Clare deserved to be recognised for her contribution to the redheaded community.

‘NOT ZOE-CLARE! What will the mildly but not really red-headed community do now without their leader?’ added another.

One person even thought she’d earned herself a place on next year’s season of Bachelor In Paradise.

‘If Zoe-Clare doesn’t get picked for Paradise next year, I will personally buy her a ticket to Fiji,’ wrote one fan.

Even the show’s host, Osher Günsberg, couldn’t resist poking fun at her on Twitter: ‘I for one will miss Zoe-Clare. And her hair. And her bone structure.’

Taking a stand: Shortly after her arrival on this year's Bachelor, Zoe-Clare went on a lengthy rant about how redheads are regularly discriminated against

Zoe-Clare was sent home halfway through the episode, alongside fellow hopeful Clare Lange, 26.

Shortly after her arrival on this year’s Bachelor, Zoe-Clare went on a lengthy rant about how redheads are regularly discriminated against.

‘What’s wrong with a ranga? I’m sorry, do you want me to dye my hair every 10 seconds, I’m so sorry but this is natural guys. This is not going anywhere!’ she fumed.

The Bachelor continues Thursday at 7.30pm on Channel Ten
