Selling Sunset star Maya Vander debunks rumors she’s leaving the show: ‘I’m staying with Jason’

After rumors swirled that she was leaving the hit Netflix show Saving Sunset and the real estate brokerage firm The Oppenheim Group, Maya Vander set the record straight.

While the 32-year-old broker has been raising her 18-month-old son Aiden and three-month-old daughter Elle Madison in Miami, she is not leaving the Los Angeles-based show.

‘No, I’m not leaving. I’m staying with Jason (Oppenheim),’ Vander revealed in a statement to People, referring to The Oppenheim Group’s President and Founder.

‘I’m actually working with a few potential, very good clients with him in L.A.,’ she added.

‘Just focusing on Miami a lot, but I have a couple of pretty interesting clients that I might have to make the trip to L.A. for,’ Vander continued.

Her travels between Los Angeles and Miami has been one of several story threads throughout the first two seasons.

The rumor started when her co-worker/co-star Christine Quinn hinted at it in an episode of Too Tired to be Crazy with Violet Benson.

Benson told Quinn she heard someone was leaving the brokerage, which Quinn responded, ‘brokerage, she’s leaving the brokerage,’ mimicking Vander’s Israeli accent.

When Benson asked if it was Maya, Quinn said, ‘Yeah, I think so,’ though Vander said she isn’t sure what gave Quinn the idea that she’s leaving.

‘I honestly have no clue why she’d think I was going to leave. But I’m definitely not leaving the old group,’ Vander added.

While she’s not leaving her job, she did state that she wasn’t sure how involved she would be on Selling Sunset for Season 4, due to her parental duties.

‘If I can be involved with season four somehow, I’ll be involved with it, but I just have to take it as it comes, because I don’t know even when we’re going to film,’ she said.

The broker said she has not spoken with anyone in production yet and she doesn’t, ‘know what they have in mind.’

She added that her business in Florida is ‘picking up,’ adding, ‘I don’t know if it would be in the same capacity.’

‘I would have to figure out how to manage it all with two little children,’ she added.

Season 3 of Selling Sunset debuted August 7 on Netflix, and while a fourth season hasn’t been officially announced, Quinn teased that it would be the ‘juiciest season ever,’ after Jason’s brother Brett left to start his own firm, Oppenheim Real Estate.

Vander also confirmed there is no ‘bad blood’ between the brothers, adding, ‘They are very similar personalities, so they still work on some stuff together, I know that for a fact.

‘Brett and Jason are in a very great place now, and I think they are actually going to collaborate on some stuff. So that’s the comment I can tell you, but none of us are leaving to [go to] Brett’s,’ she added.
