Heather Rae Young hits back after Chrissy Teigen casts doubt about her real estate career

The cast of Selling Sunset have been on the defense after sparking suspicions about the legitimacy of their real estate careers, with even Chrissy Teigen having her doubts.

But Heather Rae Young is standing up to the skepticism.

Young, 32, was asked about Teigen’s suspicions during an interview on KTLA, where fired back by describing her extensive experience working for the Oppenheim Group.

‘I sold my first house within three months of having my license’: Heather Rae Young responded to Chrissy Teigen’s skepticism over the legitimacy of her real estate career

‘My response to that is I have had my real estate license since 2014. I’ve been with The Oppenheim Group since 2015. I sold my first house within three months of having my license, it was a $7.2 million house. A week later, I sold a $1.5 million condo and you can look up the proof.

‘You can come to our office, visit us. We’ve all been in the office for years and years and known each other for almost six years… Maybe because she doesn’t know us doesn’t mean we’re not real real estate agents.’

Heather and her Selling Sunset costars have been under heavy scrutiny as of late, after fans accused the cast of faking their real estate careers for the TV show.

Among the doubtful viewers was Chrissy Teigen, who took to Twitter to air her suspicions after watching the show.

‘I will say, I look at LA real estate a lot and have never seen any of these people lol neither have our agents, who I have obsessively asked,’ Chrissy recently wrote on Twitter, prompting other viewers to weigh in with similar concerns.

The thread eventually caught the attention of Oppenheim Group founder Jason Oppenheim, who has since defended his colleagues several times from allegations of faking their careers.

Jason responded to Chrissy on Twitter, where he described his team’s tireless work and invited her to the office.

‘Chrissy, thanks for watching our show!’ he wrote. ‘Regarding your agent’s knowledge of members of my team, I respectfully don’t know him either although that doesn’t mean he isn’t successful and didn’t just sell you a stunning home in Weho (seriously, I love your new house).’

‘My team works tirelessly and if their real estate successes don’t precede them yet, they will. Remember their names. And feel free to come by the office and say hi.’

Jason once again defended his colleagues in a statement obtained by People, where he said a ‘superficial investigation’ into the matter would yield proof of their extensive real estate backgrounds.

‘Mary, Heather, Maya, and Christine were licensed and successful real estate agents at The Oppenheim Group many years prior to filming our show,’ Jason explained.

‘Amanza worked with us as a designer, and has been a close friend of Mary’s and mine for many years. Chrishell was a practicing agent at another brokerage, many years previous to filming Selling Sunset. As a licensed agent, Davina had transacted many deals before joining the team in 2018.’

Jason called the suggestion his team were faking their careers a ‘complete disregard for the facts.’

‘Any insinuation that the agents on our show are not experienced, successful, or licensed, evidences a complete disregard for the facts,’ he continued.

‘Even a superficial investigation would identify previous team photos, hundreds of millions in transacted sales, and more than 50 years of combined licensed real estate experience from these agents.’

Heather is just one of the many glamorous real estate agents appearing on the hit Netflix series, which also stars fellow colleagues Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young, Davina Portraz, Amanza Smith, and Maya Vander.

In addition to her real estate career, Heather’s flourishing romance with Flip Or Flop star Tarek El Moussa was documented on the series.

The couple are now engaged.
