Four-year-old boy sinks a hole in one on West Virginia golf course

‘There’s no way!’ Four-year-old boy sinks a hole in one on West Virginia golf course as his stunned dad watches on in disbelief

  • Rocco Figaretti beat odds of more than 12,000 to one to land a hole in one Friday
  • The four-year-old was golfing with dad Mario at Oglebay Park, West Virginia
  • Neither Mario nor Rocco could believe he made the shot and sounded stunned
  • Mario says Rocco practises his swing regularly in the yard, beginning last year

Some golfers spend their entire lives dreaming of making a hole-in-one, but for this young boy the dream didn’t take long to materialize as he achieved the odds-defying feat at just four years old.

Little Rocco Figaretti may be tender in his years, but his dad Mario believes he could have a golfing prodigy on his hands following a video he captured at Oglebay Park golf course, in West Virginia, on Friday.

The footage begins with Rocco, dressed in sunglasses and Crocs, preparing to tee-off from a par-three course with the hole visible down a hill in the background.

Before making what would prove to be an unforgettable swing, Rocco removes his sunglasses to prove he means business.

The little maestro then takes a firm swing at the ball, lifting it up off the tee and causing it bounce down hard in the middle of the fairway.

However it doesn’t stop there, with the ball bouncing all the way to the green, before trickling towards the flag and – beating odds of more than 12,000 to one – sinks into the hole.

‘You just got a hole in one,’ Mario tells his son, the shock evident in his voice.

Rocco then shakes his head back at Mario, seemingly unwilling to believe what he’d just done.

To confirm, the four-year-old runs down the hill towards the hole. When he gets to the green, he turns back to his dad, raises his shoulders and says ‘I don’t see it?’

‘There’s no way,’ Mario excitedly laughs, as the beaming father tells Rocco to go get the ball from the hole and lift it up to the camera.

The doting dad said Rocco practices his swing all the time in the yard, having first taken an interest in the sport when he was three.

‘He swings right-handed with a left-handed grip and it works for him, so I don’t think we’re going to switch it,’ Mario Figaretti told ABC3340. ‘It’s just been really fun watching him develop a love for the game because he really does spend a lot of time out here in the year hitting golf balls.’

Rocco’s family says they’re proud of him and really hope he sticks with the sport.
