Rebel Wilson continues to show off her shrinking frame as she goes for her first surf lesson in Los Angeles

Rebel Wilson has worked hard over the past eight months during her ‘year of health’.

And on Tuesday, the Australian actress showed off her 18kg weight loss as she tried her luck at surfing with friends in Los Angeles.

The 40-year-old star appeared relaxed and happier than ever as she shared a series of photos from her adventure.

‘First ever surf lesson in Malibu. Thanks to my ‘BU crew for having my back and teaching me the way of the waves x,’ she wrote alongside the photos.

One photo sees the actress pose alongside friends, while flashing the shaka sign dressed in a full bodysuit, which covered her strappy bikini. 

Another photo sees the funnywoman pose alongside her longtime friend Marissa Montgomery while they wore matching hats.

Rebel revealed in May that she was trying to get down to her goal weight of 75kg (165lbs or 11.8 stone).

According to People last month, Rebel’s remarkable transformation is partially down to following the Mayr Method diet plan.

‘It’s an approach that eliminates food intolerances, reduces sugar, encourages eating whole foods slowly, boosts the immune system and reduces inflammation,’ a source said.

‘She exercises with a personal trainer up to six times a week, goes on walks and is trying to up her protein intake nutritionally.’

Meanwhile her personal trainer Jono recently shared her workout routine with E! Australia.

During a typical week, she does a combination of HIIT workouts, mobility, weights and resistance, and has just one day per week of rest.

Rebel is said to have shed an incredible 18kg (40lbs or 2.8 stone) since kicking off her ‘year of health’.

‘Okay so for me 2020 is going to be called “The Year of Health”,’ she vowed in an Instagram post in January.

‘I put on the athleisure and went out for a walk, deliberately hydrating on the couch right now and trying to avoid the sugar and junk food which is going to be hard after the holidays I’ve just had, but I’m going to do it!’
