They famously hosted ABC TV’s The Cook and the Chef for four years between 2006 and 2009, earning a cult following that continues to this day.

And on Monday, Maggie Beer and Simon Bryant reunited for the first time in a while at Maggie’s Farm Eatery restaurant in Nuriootpa, in South Australia’s Barossa Valley.

Proving they’re still good friends more than a decade after their show finished airing, the pair posed for a photo together at the picturesque venue.

The Cook and the Chef was an ABC cooking show that featured Maggie, a self-taught cook, sharing tips and recipes with Simon, 55, a highly trained professional chef.

The program was popular with viewers thanks to its blend of Maggie’s homespun wisdom and Simon’s insight as a formally educated restaurateur.

Despite their age gap – Simon was in his forties at the time and Maggie in her sixties – the duo appeared to share genuine chemistry and friendship.

Reruns of The Cook and the Chef continue to air on multichannel SBS Food; however, the accompanying recipes are no longer available on the ABC website.
