The Masked Singer judges all test negative for COVID-19 after outbreak stops filming

The Masked Singer’s Dave Hughes has revealed he and his fellow judges have all tested negative for COVID-19.

Production of The Masked Singer was thrown into chaos over the weekend following a COVID-19 outbreak on set which halted filming for the finale while the cast and the crew went into self-isolation and underwent testing immediately.

And speaking on The Project on Monday, Dave confirmed that he has been given the coronavirus all-clear, as has Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, Dannii Minogue, Urzila Carlson, and host, Osher Günsberg.

‘Very grateful’: The Masked Singer’s Dave Hughes [pictured] has revealed he and his fellow judges have all tested negative for COVID-19.

When quizzed by The Project host Carrie Bickmore if he had received his test results, Dave confirmed: ‘All the panellists, myself, and [host] Osher, we’ve all tested negative thankfully.

‘We’re very grateful that the protocols set up by The Masked Singer group mean that we’ve been able to test negative.

‘Our thoughts are with those who have tested positive, some of the cast members who have tested positive, and the dancers.’

Earlier in the day, judge Jackie announced the results of her COVID-19 test live on her KIIS FM breakfast show.

The 45-year-old revealed that she’d received a text message alert from Victorian health authorities during a commercial break. She tested negative.

At the start of the program at 6am, Jackie addressed the situation in Melbourne’s Docklands, where filming of The Masked Singer ground to a halt on Saturday when seven dancers tested positive for COVID-19.

‘We all did our tests yesterday [Sunday] morning. We really feel for [the dancers]. They’re young and they’d be naturally a little scared at the moment,’ she said.

‘It’s really sad that that happened actually.’

Jackie explained that the dancers were kept apart from the judges and host Osher Günsberg during filming, thereby minimising their risk of exposure.

One dancer had arrived on set feeling unwell on Friday and was told by producers to go home before testing positive for coronavirus.

Another six dancers who were in close contact subsequently tested positive.

With no studio audience this season because of the coronavirus pandemic, the show has instead used dancers to perform in the forefront.
