Julianne Moore celebrates 17th wedding anniversary with husband Bart Freundlich in quarantine 

Julianne Moore and her husband Bart Freundlich celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

The 59-year-old Academy Award winner shared a photo to Instagram of her and her 50-year-old husband.

Bart had his arm wrapped around Julianne as the beaming couple leaned against their black SUV.

The Magnolia actress wore a simple white T-shirt and ragged cut-off jeans while sporting her signature red tresses, while her frequent collaborator wore a white T-shirt with charcoal sweatpants.

‘I said he should take a shower. He said my hair smelled bad, like mildew, or an old box. Happy 17th Wedding anniversary @freundlich96,’ Julianne joked in the caption.

‘There is no one I’d rather be with everyday. I love you,’ she continued, adding the hashtags, ‘#anniversary,’ and ‘#quarantine.’

The comments were filled up with Julianne and Bart’s celebrity friends wishing them well for their special day, including Rita Wilson, Samuel L. Jackson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chelsea Handler and Jeanne Tripplehorn.

Naomi Watts wished them a ‘hysterical happy anniversary, while Jessica Seinfeld called them the ‘best people, best couple.’

‘Literally the definition of goals…you two will always be as perfect a pair as I could possibly imagine,’ wrote former Grey’s Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw.

Julianne and Bart tied the knot in 2003, and the couple share a 22-year-old son Caleb and an 18-year-old daughter Liv.

It was the second marriage for the actress, who was previously John Gould Rubin from 1986 until their divorce in 1995. 

She and Bart met in 1996 on the set of his feature directorial debut The Myth Of Fingerprints, which was filmed just as her star was on the rise.

The movie, which also featured Roy Scheider, Blythe Danner, Hope Davis and Noah Wyle, concerned a family that was torn asunder after their son returns for Thanksgiving after three years away.

Julianne has continued to act in most of Bart’s films, including his most recent feature After The Wedding (2019), which also starred Michelle Williams and Billy Crudup.

‘It was pretty unexpected,’ she said of the start of their relationship while speaking to People last year. 

She said the two started dividing their time between New York, where he worked, and Los Angeles, where she was based. 

‘It kept going, and now we have this huge history together,’ she said. ‘It’s true — that thing about love growing. It does and it gets way better.’

The Boogie Nights actress described marriage as ‘a container for a family and that’s why legal marriage is important — that everyone be allowed to be married, every couple, because it’s a way of saying to the world, “I’m legally committed to this person and I’m going to make this container for the two of us, and then our children, and our life together.”‘
