Ex MasterChef star purchases TWO homes in Sydney for $11.6m

Pays to be on reality TV! Former MasterChef star Jimmy Seervai purchases TWO homes in Sydney’s Mosman for a combined $11.6million

Jimmy Seervai starred on the 2010 season of MasterChef, where he was dubbed the ‘curry king’.

And according to The Sydney Morning Herald on Saturday, the contestant, who has since founded a sports nutrition manufacturing group, has purchased two homes in Sydney’s upmarket suburb of Mosman for a combined $11.6million.

It’s understood Jimmy has no plans on living in either property, rather bulldozing them to make way for a new, three-level home.

The properties offer stunning views of Balmoral Beach and the harbour from the rooftop.

With a warm brick facade, interiors include beige walls and timber floors.

The properties are also flanked by lush greenery, making them the perfect escape from inner-city life.

Back in 2010, Jimmy was eliminated from MasterChef when he ditched his tried and tested curry recipes for a three-course meal challenge.

Jimmy went with a duck, prawn and crème brûlée menu that failed to impress the judges.

‘I think I took way too much of a risk not sticking with curries for this challenge,’ he said after the disastrous result.

‘It’s ironic that people tell you to not just stick with what you know, but the moment you try to push yourself, you’re out of the competition,’ Jimmy continued.

‘But had I played it safe, I wouldn’t have been happy with myself. The food that I’ve plated up so far in the competition hasn’t been the best presented dishes and I wanted to push the boundaries.’

Despite having not gone all the way on the cooking series, Jimmy went on to found Essence Group, which manufactures sports nutrition and supplements for supermarkets such as Woolworths and Aldi.
