Coming Down Under! Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is set to film a new TV series about his childhood in Australia

He is the highest paid actor in Hollywood and now Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is coming Down Under.  

The 48-year-old is set come to Australia to film a new autobiographical TV comedy about his life, titled Young Rock. 

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Jumanji star will arrive in Queensland later this year to begin shooting.

The production is expected to take place at Brisbane’s recently opened film and TV studio located in Hemmant. 

But sources told the publication that locations in New South Wales are also being scouted. 

The series is expected to consist of three 11-episode seasons that chronicles Dwayne’s journey from a young celebrity wrestler to a Hollywood superstar.

The actor not only wrote and produced much of the series, but he is also expected to appear in every episode on the show.  

Young Rock will be set in his hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii, which is expected to be recreated in Brisbane and it is expected to air in the US midway through next year.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to the actors representation for comment.

Last week Dwayne topped Forbes magazine’s list of Hollywood’s highest paid actors for the second year in a row.

The wrestler-turned-actor bested the competition by taking home $87.5million.

Dwayne’s bottom line got a boost courtesy of a $23.5million payday from Netflix for the upcoming Red Notice. His Under Armour line Project Rock has also been profitable.  

Following close behind in second place was Ryan Reynolds with $71.5million and Mark Wahlberg took the third spot with $58million.
