She recently admitted she never dreamt of being a mother but is now delighted to be expecting her first child, a boy, with her partner of nine months, Tom Andrews.

And Ashley James proved she’s been taking her pregnancy in her stride as she shared an image from her recent staycation to Frinton-On-Sea onto Instagram on Wednesday.

The DJ, 33, looked as radiant as ever in a baby blue swimsuit as she discussed working with a happiness coach to ‘find the colour amongst the grey skies’ in the post’s candid caption.

Turning heads, the former Made In Chelsea star, whose due date is January, cradled her blossoming baby bump in a vibrant one-piece complete with a zip-up feature.

The influencer draped a pale pink shirt across her arms while striking a pose by the Essex beach.

Detailing her road to happiness in an accompanying message, the TV star wrote: ‘Are you able to find the colour amongst the grey skies?

‘How happy are you truly? I think we can all agree that whilst we’ve had very different experiences this year, it’s been challenging for all of us. But apparently true happiness lies in being able to ride the waves through the storm.

‘In being able to enjoy the journey, and not just the destination. In enjoying the present, and not getting consumed with worrying about the future. 

‘I’ve been working on my own sense of happiness recently, even working with a happiness coach (she’s actually studied the science of happiness).

The media personality went on to share what she’s learnt from her sessions, adding: ‘Did you know that our happiness is 50% genetic, and only 10% from our circumstances?

‘That means contradictory to what we are told, a bigger house, a promotion, a relationship / marriage, more money, material possessions can only make is 10% happier, and only for a short period of time. It’s scientifically proven! 

‘And 40% of our happiness can be achieved for all of us through practice and changing our mindset. How awesome is that?’

The mother-to-be ended her post by revealing tips for maintaining a positive outlook on life as she said: ‘Breathe! Yup, I know, who knew? But breathing properly for a few minutes a day and focusing on that can reset our stress levels and bring calm. 

‘Gratitudes. Writing down what we are grateful for every evening retrains our brain to see the beautiful moments and become glass half full people. And guess what? Obtaining your “perfect body” doesn’t bring you any more happiness. But I’ll get onto that another time.

‘Being happy isn’t about suppressing or hiding negative emotions, it’s about being able to feel them and then let them go quickly. It’s about learning to feel pleasant emotions and holding onto them a little longer.

‘The other day I went to the british seaside, and usually I’d have been consumed with the awful weather and wishing I was on a hotter beach somewhere. 

‘But this day, I put on a colourful outfit, enjoyed the warmth of the sea, appreciated the company I was in, and marvelled in the colourful beach huts. It was a happy day, my mindset just had to learn to see that it was.’ (sic)
