The Bachelor star Areeba Emmanuel breaks her silence on ‘ranga-gate’ and says she refuses to apologise – before calling Zoe-Clare McDonald ‘insecure’

Bachelor star Areeba Emmanuel has broken her silence on her spat with ‘oppressed ranga’ Zoe-Clare McDonald.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph this week, the 25-year-old said she refuses to apologise and went on to call Zoe-Clare, 23, ‘insecure,’ after she had a meltdown over her hair colour during the season premiere last week.

Areeba also refused to comment on claims that the redhead was ‘too drunk’ to attend the inaugural rose ceremony, after producers said she she was ‘too ill’ to attend after their blow up.

‘I will call people on their bulls**t,’ Areeba said.

‘I have no filter and I am not going to apologise as well because this is who I am,’ she said.

Speaking about how Zoe-Clare said she was being targeted because of her hair colour, Areeba said it’s simply not true and that it’s her ‘own insecurity.’

‘It is funny because not once did anyone mention anything about the colour of her hair so I don’t know where she got that from and what was going on there.’

During the premiere episode last week, Zoe-Clare flew into a rage after Areeba interrupted her discussion with Locky Gilbert.

‘To me, it’s disrespectful. If she wants to act the child, that’s fine,’ she told producers.

For no apparent reason, she came to the conclusion that the other women didn’t like her because of her hair colour.

She continued: ‘I’m the only redhead in the whole entire house… The only colours are blonde or brunette, and then there’s me. I think that’s exactly why Areeba is targeting me. It’s the red hair. It’s just… it’s not appropriate.

‘What’s wrong with a ranga? Yeah. Do you want me to dye my hair every 10 seconds because you don’t like my colour? I’m so sorry, but this is natural, guys. It’s not going anywhere.’

Her tearful monologue confused many viewers because nobody had mentioned the colour of her hair.

Despite being too unwell to attend, Zoe-Clare still received a rose.

Bachelor fans were left convinced that Zoe-Clare was ‘too drunk’ to attend the inaugural rose ceremony and flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts.

‘Zoe-Clare got too p***ed to stand straight in the rose ceremony,’ one fan tweeted.

Another added: ‘Zoe has her head in the toilet so she can’t attend the rose ceremony.’

A third suggested that Zoe-Clare had ‘passed out’ before the rose ceremony, hence why she couldn’t make it.

A fourth viewer joked that she’d skipped the eviction to ‘get a bottle of dye from Priceline’, after her meltdown.

The Bachelor Australia continues Thursday 7:30pm on Channel 10.
