The popular sitcom Friends will be available on Netflix Australia next month.

The streaming service made the announcement on Wednesday, revealing that all 10 seasons of the hit show will be available from September 17.

Fans went into meltdown in response to the news, with many saying they couldn’t wait to binge-watch their favourite ’90s series.

‘Best news ever!’ one super-fan commented on Facebook, as hundreds more tagged their friends below Netflix’s announcement.

Another added: ‘Not that you haven’t already watched it a gazillion times, but I know you’ll be excited for this! I KNOW I AM!’

‘Yay!’ a third viewer wrote.

Netflix’s announcement read: ‘Could I BE any more excited? Friends is coming to Netflix Australia. All ten seasons drop September 17, so that’s me set for the rest of the year.’

It comes after actress Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green in Friends, revealed the hotly-anticipated reunion series had been delayed until May next year.

She told Deadline earlier this month that she was optimistic about the reboot, however, saying she was a ‘glass half-full’ person.

‘It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been,’ she said.

‘I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed,’ she continued. ‘Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re stuck with us for life, guys.’

The highly anticipated reunion has been plagued with delays and HBO Max has now pushed the special back again due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which is now surging in California.

‘Unfortunately it’s very sad that we had to move it again,’ Jennifer said. The Emmy winner is still excited about getting back to work as soon as it’s safe for everyone involved.

‘It was, ”how do we do this with live audiences?” This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it.’
