He’s the former bank manager who rose to fame after winning Ali Oetjen’s heart on The Bachelorette in 2018.

But four years before making his reality TV debut, Taite Radley underwent a dramatic bodybuilding transformation in his early twenties.

Taite, 28, who now runs the Sweaty AF gym in Ballarat, shared a series of photos to Instagram on Tuesday that highlighted his remarkable psychical journey.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Taite revealed he was training six days a week and consuming 6,000 calories a day when he was at his biggest (115kg).

During 24-hour period, he would eat two McDonald’s burgers with fries, four Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and several Nutella chocolate sandwiches with peanut butter. 

‘I started it as a hobby whilst I was injured during football,’ he began.

‘Competing isn’t sustainable. You look good on the day but feel s**t leading up to it.’ 

The reality star was inspired by reading articles about Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was a competitive bodybuilder before finding fame in Hollywood.

The photos shared on Tuesday showed a younger Taite posing for judges at an INBA Bodybuilding Championship tournament.

He sported a deep, fake tan that highlighted his sinewy biceps, abs and leg muscles. 

After his 2014 competition, Taite gained weight the following year in an attempt to increase his muscle mass, eventually tipping the scales at 115kg.

Taite, who announced his split from Ali several weeks ago, now eats a more balanced diet and isn’t as focused on bulking up.

‘I’m now all about being fit and functional,’ he said.
