Britney Spears no longer wants her dad Jamie to be in control of her conservatorship, according to court documents obtained by TMZ on Tuesday.

The outlet reports that Britney’s court-appointed lawyer filed paperwork explaining that the 38-year-old would like to put permanent control of her estate and finances in the hands of her temporary conservator Jodi Montgomery.

The popstar’s dad Jamie Spears has been the conservator of his daughter’s lucrative estate and finances since 2008.

Trying to make a change: Britney Spears no longer wants her dad Jamie to be in control of her conservatorship, according to court documents obtained by TMZ on Tuesday

This latest filing is part of Britney’s recent battle to have her longtime conservatorship loosened or even scrapped all together.

Spears’ attorney said in the documents that her client ‘strongly prefers’ to keep the temporary conservator, Jodi Montgomery, in place instead of her dad Jamie.

Jamie has had sole control over her estate since last year when his co-conservator resigned. TMZ reports that she would now like a ‘qualified corporate fiduciary’ to take over her business affairs instead.

The temporary conservator was put in place last September after Jamie was forced to step down due to medical issues.

The outlet also noted that this latest filing doubles down on Britney’s earlier desire to stop performing professionally.

Her lawyer feels that the whole conservatorship needs to be overhauled in order to accurately reflect her current lifestyle and choices, it was reported.

The request comes as the Free Britney movement has been heating up among fans who believe in a conspiracy theory that the pop star is being held ‘hostage’ by her caretakers.

They’ve been calling for the Toxic crooner to be released from her conservatorship through online petitions, social media posts and even some in-person protests.

Calming the storm: Over the weekend, Britney, 38, posted a date stamped photo to assuage fans who were in a frenzy of concern that her recent posts have come from a social media team while she's allegedly being locked up by her family

The frenzy reached a fever pitch over the weekend, when a legion of her fans became convinced that her recent social media videos were old and being shared by her team to try to ‘fake’ that she is okay.

That prompted Spears to post a date stamped photo to assuage the concerned fans and show she isn’t locked up and still has access to her phone.

‘Just so you guys know these aren’t old … check the date at the top of the 2nd pic!!!!’ she wrote in the caption.

‘The fact you need to post the date to prove she’s real looks really suspicious…we all know someone’s running the account,’ wrote one person who wasn’t placated by the attempt.
