Gracious in defeat: Axed Channel 10 newsreader Natarsha Belling shares dignified farewell after two decades on the network – and promotes her exciting new project
Veteran newsreader Natarsha Belling was sacked by Channel 10 last week after more than two decades on the network.
On Friday, the journalist, 45, shared a dignified farewell to viewers and her former colleagues via Instagram.
Making a respectable exit, Natarsha showed no bitterness toward the network, and instead thanked them for supporting her career since her early 20s.

‘To all the wonderful viewers, colleagues, family and friends – thank you for all your beautiful messages – they mean the world to me,’ she began the post.
‘It’s been an absolute pleasure being part of the Network 10 family for more than 22 years and I want to thank the Network for all the wonderful opportunities I’ve enjoyed over the past two decades.
‘During that time, I’ve worked with some of the very best in the TV business who have inspired me with their skill, passion and dedication.
‘I’ve worked with some of the very best’: Natarsha showed no bitterness towards the network, and praised Channel 10 for supporting her career over the years
‘I can’t wait to share with you what’s coming up!’ Natarsha said she was ‘excited about the next chapter’ as she hinted a new project was already in the works for her
Natarsha continued: ‘2020 has been such a challenging year for so many and it has in many ways reminded us about what truly matters in life.
‘I’m sad to leave, but excited about the new chapter ahead. I can’t wait to share with you what’s coming up!’
Natarsha’s farewell message follows speculation she might be heading to Ten’s rival network Channel Nine to fill the newsreader position left by Tracy Vo earlier this year.

Channel Nine’s head of news and current affairs has already publicly denied the claims.
Darren Wick told TV Tonight: ‘Tarsh is a great operator, but we are not currently looking to expand the team.’
Natarsha is among the 25 stars who were axed by Channel 10 on Tuesday. The group also included weatherman Tim Bailey and Studio 10’s Kerri-Anne Kennerley.
