Matt Willis hopes to appear on Strictly Come Dancing despite wife Emma previously saying she would never let him take part.

The Busted star, 37, said he had been eyeing up a place on the hit BBC show during an interview on the Private Parts podcast with Jamie Laing and Francis Boulle.

The father-of-three said: ‘They’ll be some sort of dancing show in my future, I am sure. Not this year, but it’s a given isn’t it? At some point.’

He hopes to follow in the footsteps of his close friend Harry Judd, from McFly, who won the Glitterball trophy in 2011.

But his decision comes after wife Emma, 44, previously said she would never let him take part.

The Voice host said: ‘I’m a jealous person. If my husband is around a younger, good-looking woman, I’m like, “Stop looking at them”‘.

‘Matt could do Strictly, because he’s an amazing dancer. Every now and then he will bust out a pirouette in the middle of the living room and our daughter will be like, “Wow, Daddy!”

‘But I don’t want him grinding against hot women.’

The revelation comes after Matt admitted getting married was what ‘triggered’ him to quit alcohol.

The star, who struggled with addiction prior to marrying TV presenter Emma, previously explained that he didn’t trust himself not to turn up to the altar drunk on his wedding day.

But he said that he knew Emma would leave him jilted if he did.

He told The Wagon podcast: ‘I was getting married and I think the trigger for me was that I was going to turn up for my wedding off my head.

‘Guaranteed, and there’s no two ways about it, she won’t marry me!’

Matt and Emma have now been married for 12 years and are parents to three children, Isabelle, 10, Ace, eight and Trixie, four.
