Britney Spears tries to prove that her photos are new by revealing the time stamp

Britney Spears responded to concerned fans on Friday by sharing a timestamp of her new photos to prove they were taken recently.

The 38-year-old pop star posted a photo that was dated August 6 as a flurry of fans express concern that her recent posts have come from a social media team while she’s allegedly locked up or unable to post amid the ongoing #FreeBritney movement.

Britney’s most recent post featured a white peasant crop top featuring delicate floral designs that she’s shown off in posts on multiple days this month.

The receipts: Britney Spears fought back at rumors that her social media team was reusing her photos to disguise an absence by posting one with a time stamp on Friday

She showed off a serious face in the photos, a departure from her usually ebullient demeanor.

‘Just so you guys know these aren’t old … check the date at the top of the 2nd pic!!!!’ she wrote in the caption.

The second image featured an iPhone time stamp dating the picture to 1: 26 a.m. on August 6.

The image appeared to show that Britney was free to take the photo as of earlier this month and suggested she had access to her own phone.

However, she had posted photos in what appeared to be the same top multiple times since August 6, and always with the same hair style and necklace, even though she often changes out her necklaces.

It’s also possible to simply take a screenshot on the phone which creates a copy of the original with a more recent time stamp.

The move doesn’t seem to have placated some of her fans, who took to the comments to express concern.

‘The fact you need to post the date to prove she’s real looks really suspicious…we all know someone’s running the account,’ wrote one person.

‘You’re not fooling anyone, this isn’t Britney!! You could’ve easily screenshotted then said it was from this date,’ another user commented.

‘I feel something is terribly Wrong,’ read one comment that had racked up more than 4,000 likes.

More questions: The Toxic singer's photo could have simply been a screenshot of an older image, and she's used it multiple days since August 6. Meanwhile, she's tried to prove she's doing well by sharing photos of a seemingly recent beach visit

Though some of her #FreeBritney fans have worried her phone has been taken away from her, she has shared photos and videos of herself visiting the beach to counter those rumors.

The rumors accompanied revelations in recent days that the songstress’ father Jamie Spears had earned $128,000 in compensation for his role as her conservator in 2019, a role from which he stepped down in September.

She also spent $1,202,504.30 last year to pay her entire legal team and advisors, according to E! News.

Clap back: On Thursday, Britney called out Josh Ostrovsky, aka The Fat Jew, for seemingly criticizing her use of crop tops, though it wasn't clear if he said anything on social media

Earlier on Thursday, Britney called out The Fat Jew, aka Josh Ostrovsky, in short video of her showing off the same crop top.

‘This little clip is a message for @thefatjewish…. yes I do own a peasant midriff top for every day of the week!!!!’ she joked in the caption.

Ostrovsky doesn’t seem to have mentioned Britney on his social media accounts recently, and she seemed to be having plenty of fun with the post.

In fact, Ostrovsky previously mentioned being a superfan, and he even got to go onstage during one of her 2015 Las Vegas performances, so it may just have been a joke between friends.
