Kyle Sandilands accidentally DUMPS his radio show mid-segment… leaving Jackie ‘O’ Henderson stunned as producers scramble to salvage the broadcast

Kyle Sandilands is used to his KIIS FM radio show being pulled from the airwaves due to appropriate content.

So it came as a shock to the 49-year-old when the broadcast was stopped on Thursday morning during an inoffensive discussion about co-star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s daughter Kitty.

Mid-way through the segment, the program abruptly ended as a booming voiceover said: ‘This station you’ve been listening to has been dumped.’

‘This means someone has said something inappropriate and is getting in trouble. The broadcast will return in seconds,’ the voice continued.

‘Dumping’ is radio terminology for when a live show is cut off because the broadcast delay (usually around 45 seconds) is insufficient to censor inappropriate content.

After quickly realising he’d accidentally pressed the ‘dump’ button, Kyle announced:  ‘Sorry everyone, I accidentally dumped the whole program. That’s my fault.’

Whoops! Kyle Sandilands, 49, accidentally dumped his radio show mid-segment on Thursday morning during an inoffensive discussion about co-star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s daughter Kitty

Jackie appeared stunned as she watched chaos erupt behind-the-scenes, with producers rushing to switch off the censor.

‘Where is your dump button on your panel?’ Jackie asked with a wry smile.

Newsreader Brooklyn Ross also interjected: ‘Yeah, I didn’t know you could do that.’

Peering down to find the offending button on his control panel, Kyle suddenly exclaimed: ‘Oh that’s too close to the ad-break button!’

‘That’ll have to be moved,’ he joked, turning to a nearby producer.

‘You’ll have to send this whole desk back to Germany and get them to change it around again,’ he added with a laugh.

Blame it on the button: Peering down to find the offending button on his control panel, Kyle suddenly exclaimed: 'Oh that's too close to the ad-break button!'
