Channel Seven confirms there WILL be a second season of Farmer Wants a Wife in 2021 with Natalie Gruzlewski to return as host

Channel Seven has confirmed there will be a second season of the Farmer Wants a Wife reboot in 2021.

The network also confirmed that Natalie Gruzlewski will be returning as host.

She said: ‘I’m so excited to guide another crop of hard-working Aussie farmers in their search for true love.

Speaking of the show’s success, Seven’s Programming Director Angus Ross said: ‘We knew Farmer Wants A Wife had its heart in the right place and this has resonated with viewers across Australia – with huge numbers on 7 and 7Plus. 

‘This is just the beginning: we’re excited to build on this year’s momentum by delivering a scaled-up season with even more of Farmer Wants A Wife for 2021.

‘It continues the successful reinvention of Seven’s content slate in 2020 using proven, power formats.’

Farmer Wants A Wife has proven to be a very successful dating reality show that has resulted in 99 marriages and 225 beautiful farmer babies worldwide.

Meanwhile, the Australian franchise has resulted in nine marriages and 20 babies.

The season renewal of Farmer Wants A Wife comes after the show successful premiere episode that also proved to be a hit with audiences in rural areas, according to Ad News.

The opening episode pulled in 908,000 metro viewers, while an additional 492,000 regional viewers also watched.

This totalled a national audience of 1.4million viewers for the newly revived show’s debut episode, which beat Channel Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior.

The show follows five farmers as they search for lasting love, with prospective partners sent to live with them on their farm to see if they’re cut out for country life. 

Farmer Wants A Wife first premiered on Channel Nine and aired from 2007 until 2012, with a brief return in 2016. 

Farmer Wants A Wife season one final will air on Monday, August 17 at 7.30pm
