Bachelor fans shocked as Locky Gilbert struggles to open bottle of Champagne during date with Bella

He’s the hunky bachelor who has made no secret of his love for the outdoors.

But opening a bottle of Champagne on a luxury yacht appears to fall short of Locky Gilbert’s skill set, if Thursday’s episode of The Bachelor is anything to go by.

Fans watching from home were quick to flock to Twitter to comment on his rather embarrassing moment during his solo date with Bella Varelis. 

‘Oh FFS. What a man child. I’m out,’ one viewer wrote in response to Locky’s admission he had no idea how to open a bottle of bubbles. 

A second fan was equally shocked to learn the 27-year-old reality star had never popped a cork before. 

‘Jeez who hasn’t ever popped a bottle of champagne? That’s weird,’ they wrote. 

A third went straight for the jugular: ‘Lochie has never opened a Champagne bottle with a cork. I’ll bet he’s used to drinking it from a box.’ 

During their romantic date, Bella said it was time to pop open a bottle of Champagne, to which Locky explained, ‘I’ve actually never popped a bottle before.’

‘I’m like, super-nervous, how do you do it?’ he laughed, as he attempted to open the the pricey beverage.

Speaking in a piece to camera, the former Survivor star admitted he was embarrassed over the mishap.

‘I can’t believe that Locky’s never popped a bottle of Champagne before,’ said Bella in her interview, before adding: ‘I kind of coaxed him through it a little bit.’   

Minutes later, Bella scored her first kiss with Locky as they bobbed up and down in the water.
