Singer, guitarist and actor Trini Lopez passed away on Tuesday due to complications from COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.

He was 83 years old. 

Lopez, born Trinidad López III, was most known for his role of Pedro Jiminez in the 1967 classic war film The Dirty Dozen, and for singing a popular cover version of the American standard If I Had A Hammer.
