While beauty salons in England were permitted to reopen on 13 July, they were unable to provide most treatments involving the face.

On August 1 the government postponed further allowances to lockdown, with ‘close contact’ services including makeup application, facials, eyebrow extensions and facial waxing still not permitted.

Meanwhile the current Government guidance states that hairdressers, who ‘need to work in close proximity to their clients, usually for an extended period of time’ are unlikely to be able to maintain social distancing.

Therefore, ‘the person providing a service (such as hairdressers or beauticians, because of the period of time spent in close proximity to a person’s face, mouth and nose) should wear further protection in addition to any that they might usually wear.’

‘This should take the form of a clear visor that covers the face and provides a barrier between the wearer and the client from respiratory droplets caused by sneezing, coughing or speaking.’

Kerry wrote in the caption for her YouTube video that ‘everyone on the photoshoot had their temperatures taken before the shoot.’
