Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams mark the day they were supposed to get married with fun photos

They’re continuing to look at the bright side of things, even though nothing has gone according to their plans.

To mark the day they were supposed to get married on Saturday, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland took to her Instagram with fiance Wells Adams to share a joyous photo spread with the pair wearing bridal white.

‘A couple, a pandemic, & a postponed wedding: A series,’ Hyland, 29, began in the caption. ‘We were supposed to get married today. Instead… we took pictures and drank wine.

‘I love you to Pluto & back @wellsadams ✨’ she concluded.

In the lovely spread, the actress and her hunky Bachelor in Paradise beau, 36, cavort in a sun-filled vineyard, in front of a hilly vista.

Sarah wears a sunhat adorned with a white veil, and a frilly lace off-the-shoulder crop top.

She wears white slacks as well, knotted at the waist, along with rounded sunglasses and bangles on her wrists.

Wells complements his bride-to-be in a crisp white shirt, and khaki pants.

In the first snap, the betrothed couple hold hands as if on the wedding alter.

And in other images, they laugh as Adams gestures to his fiancee’s engagement ring, or Sarah spreads her arms as if in flight.

And on her IG Story, Sarah uploaded a fun double selfie in which the almost-bride and groom wore Mr. and Mrs. face masks.

One month ago, Hyland marked a year since they had gotten engaged in Fiji, with a lovely throwback pic from the trip.

‘One year engaged to my best friend. So grateful to be quarantined with the love of my life,’ she wrote in the caption.

‘One day we’ll get married, but for now, I’ll take eating junk food and Netflix all day every day,’ she continued. ‘I love you to Pluto and back baby’

On July 22, Hyland and Adams opened up about delaying their wedding amid the coronavirus pandemic in an interview with People.

The couple explained that they would be holding off on their nuptials as long as the pandemic raged in order to set a positive example for others.

‘I think right now there are more important things to worry about,’ Sarah said of postponing the wedding.

‘We definitely want to get married one day and have the wedding of our dreams and have everybody that we love there,’ she continued.

‘But we postponed wedding planning because we want to be able to focus on what’s important right now, and that’s helping to spread information to wear masks and to only go out for essential needs and also take a really big look inside yourself and reflect on how you treat others.

‘There’s a lot of learning, and I’m really more focused on political things rather than wedding things,’ she added. ‘There is a lot going on in the world right now and that’s what we should be focused on.’
